Hand Woven Songket

Songket is a fabric that belongs to the brocade family of textiles and it is proud legacy of the royal courts of the east coast. It is hand-woven in silk or cotton, and intricately patterned with gold or silver threads. The term songket comes from word sungkit, which means "to hook". Songket is a luxury product traditionally worn during ceremonial occasions and weddings.

Until today, Kelantan is a good place to get this graceful, luxurious fabric of Songket for yourself or as a souvenirs. It's a "must-have" item when you visited Kelantan.
