This bustling market is on of Kelantan's landmark attractions. This market has something for everyone, from fresh produce to traditional crafts and cakes. It is also a slice of life in Kelantan, abuzz with colour, scents and sounds of the local community.

Siti Khadijah Market is named after Prophet Muhammad's first wife who was a businesswoman. Name suitable for a market in which hawkers in it mostly consists of women. A good way to get to know a Malaysian town is to visit its markets, the economic centre of the community.

A unique scenery in the markets in Kelantan is that the sellersa mostly consists of women with a known interest in the business.

The market has 4 levels and is octagonal. Ground floor is devoted to products such as wet fish, vegetables, chicken and others.

Level 1 is allocated to the dry food items such as serunding , which is a very popular food in Kelantan. There are also spicy barbequed chicken, barbequed fish, nasi kerabu or assorted vegetable rice, Nasi Berlauk, Nasi Dagang, Laksam and Somtam is among the most "famous" for the people of Kelantan.


Traditional cuisines such as kuih kelantan "tahi itik , akak, jala mas, buah tanjung, serabe, tepung pelita, cakes and many more others are also sold here. The level 2 and 3 are for non-food goods.

Tips :
Visitors are encouraged to take pictures in here but if you want to take portrait pictures make sure you ask permission from the person first. By all means, take photos, but if you want to take close-ups of the sellers with their vibrantly coloured wares, it's a good idea to ask for permission first.
