As Ikan Patin (type of river fish from the cat fish family) remains synonymous today with that area of Pahang, it is the main ingredient when preparing to cook Masak Lemak Ikan Patin. Masak Lemak Ikan Patin is one of the famous and delicious Malay dishes. It is best enjoyed with hot steamed rice and sometimes with a side of tempoyak which will makes for a complete meal. In preparing the recipe, Ikan Patin is cooked in coconut milk with herbs, spices and condimums with formidable Thai pepper.
