Perak Tong Temple

Perak Tong Temple was built in 1926 by Buddhists priests from China. It is a limestone cave temple which is located at Jalan kuala Kangsar, 6 kilometers to the north of Ipoh.

This temple houses over 40 Buddha statues with a 12.8-meter sitting Buddha centerpiece.

There is a passage which leads into the interior of the cave and after a steep climb of 385 steps; the cave opens again to reveal a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside.

There is another famous temple near the Perak Tong named Sam Poh Tong Temple which is located about 5 kilometers south of Ipoh.

The temple has various kinds of statues of Buddha among natural stalactites and stalagmites.

Getting there :
Located on the right side along Jalan Kuala Kangsar, Federal Route 6km to the north of Ipoh. Can be reached by taxi or bus from Ipoh Internal Bus Station, taking the Kuala Kangsar bus that stop along Jalan Kuala Kangsar.
