The Marine Park is a bunch of five islands which are Gaya Island, Sapi Island, Manukan Island, Mamutik Island and Sulug Island which takes approximately about 20 minutes speed-boat ride from the city.

These islands are popular destinations to relax, picnic, snorkel and scuba dive. Sea-walking on the sea-bed is available off Sabah Parks’ Base Camp Jetty in Gaya Island. The largest among the others, at 140 ha, Gaya Island is partly private-owned and there is a lovely resort of chalets-above-the-sea, the Gayana Resort which also undertakes a Reef Project. Aquarium Exhibits explain their programme and one of the particular interests are the giant clams. Being the second largest island, Manukan Island is complete with accommodation and restaurant facilities.
