Zoo Negara wraps over 120 acres of land and situated only 5km from the city of Kuala Lumpur. Administered by the Malaysian Zoological Society, a non-governmental organization recognized to create the first local zoo for Malaysians, Zoo Negara has established as a well-known zoo in the world. Over the years, the zoo has transformed itself to an open concept zoo with over 90% of its animals kept in spacious exhibits with landscape be fitting to its nature. Up till now, Zoo Negara has a total of over 5137 animals from more than 500 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish. Zoo Negara is also renowned for its educational and conservation programs that focus on replicating the original habitats of animals.
Exhibits at the Zoo Negara including Reptile Park, Monkey / Lesser Apes, Malaysian Elephants, Lake Birds, Bird Aviary, Nocturnal Exhibits, Wallaby / Kangaroo, Humbolt Penguin, Bear Complex, Nile Hippopotamus, Mammal Kingdom, Freshwater Aquaria, Cat Walk, Ape Center, Savannah Walk and Children’s World.
Zoo Negara is open daily from 9am to 5pm.
