Central Market Kuala Lumpur was used to be a wet market in its early years but in the year 1980’s, it was extensively renovated and redecorated it as an art and cultural centre.

Since then, most of the local artistes come to Central Market and become one of their favorite places to show off the skills and talents.

Many shops and stalls various kinds of things that attracts the tourists such as the antique clocks, jewelries, gems, wood carvings, batik and also pewter ware.

Interesting items such as the souvenirs, handicrafts and Asian artifacts are also sold here. People with an unusual taste also come here for their wide range of unique items such as the jade trees and blown-glass souvenirs.

Cultural performances can be watched at Central Market Kuala Lumpur where it is the regular venue for traditional and contemporary dances as well as musical concerts. Central Market remains one of the best places in the city to watch cultural performances. An open air stage serves as the regular venue for traditional and contemporary dance as well as musical concerts. Visitors can also watch themselves traditional items, handicraft making demonstrations such as tekat (gold embroidery), songket (gold brocade) batik, glass blowing, or have your portrait painted by one of the many talented artists the market.

You can simply relax at one of the many restaurants here with sample local or western food.
