Puja Mandala

Puja Mandala is a unique and deeply symbolic religious complex located in the Nusa Dua area of Bali. Its name translates to “Space for Devotion,” and it was established to be a living model of religious harmony and tolerance in Indonesia.

Tucked away in a tranquil 2-hectare compound, the site features five distinct places of worship standing side-by-side without borders, representing five of Indonesia’s major recognized religions:

  1. Hinduism: Pura Jagatnatha Temple
  2. Islam: Masjid Agung Ibnu Batutah (Grand Mosque)
  3. Buddhism: Vihara Buddha Guna Temple
  4. Catholicism: Maria Bunda Segala Bangsa Church
  5. Protestantism: GKPB Jemaat Bukit Doa Church

Inaugurated in 1997, the complex showcases a beautiful blend of architectural styles, from the intricate carvings of the Hindu temple to the dome of the mosque. Visitors are welcome to explore the grounds and admire the diverse structures, making it an important cultural landmark that powerfully illustrates the concept of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity). It remains a serene spot for reflection and observing the peaceful coexistence of different faiths.
