Pandawa Beach

Pandawa Beach, or Pantai Pandawa, is a stunning coastal destination located on Bali’s southern Bukit Peninsula. For years, it was known as “Secret Beach” because access was severely restricted by towering limestone cliffs surrounding its nearly one-kilometer stretch of sand.

The beach’s transformation into a major attraction came when the local community carved a remarkable road right through the cliffs, creating a dramatic, winding entrance. This entryway itself is an attraction, featuring magnificent, large statues of the Pandawa brothers and their mother, Kunti, from the Hindu epic Mahabharata, carved directly into the rock face.

The beach itself boasts fine, white sand and clear, turquoise waters, with waves generally calmer than those on other southern breaks, making it ideal for swimming, kayaking, and sunbathing. Facilities like sunbeds and local eateries (warungs) are available. Pandawa Beach offers a beautiful combination of dramatic natural scenery, cultural iconography, and accessible relaxation, making it a must-visit spot away from the busiest tourist hubs.
