Night Safari

The Night Safari in Singapore is a world-first, pioneering nocturnal wildlife park that offers a unique perspective on animal behavior after sunset. Opened in 1994 and spanning 35 hectares within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, it allows visitors to observe over 900 animals from about 100 species in environments mimicking their natural nighttime habitats.

The experience is primarily delivered via two methods: a scenic Safari Tram Ride with commentary guiding you through diverse geographical zones like the Himalayan Foothills and Equatorial Africa, and four distinct walking trails for more intimate encounters with species like the leopard, fishing cat, and Malayan tapir. The park utilizes specialized lighting that resembles moonlight, offering visibility without disturbing the animals’ natural rhythms.

Beyond the thrill of seeing nocturnal creatures active, the Night Safari is deeply committed to conservation. It actively participates in global breeding programs for threatened species and achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first zoo globally to successfully breed the critically endangered Sunda pangolin in human care. Iconic features like the Creatures of the Night show further educate visitors on wildlife behaviors and ecological importance, making it a celebrated icon of Singaporean tourism and conservation.
