The Purna Bhakti Pertiwi Museum is located within the grounds of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) in East Jakarta. Established through the initiative of Madam Tien Soeharto, the museum was inaugurated in 1993 to commemorate the life and service of her husband, former President Soeharto.
The museum’s architecture is symbolic, with the main building shaped like a tumpeng, a traditional Javanese cone-shaped rice dish that symbolizes gratitude and thanksgiving. This reflects the museum’s core purpose: an expression of thanks for the support given to the Soeharto family by the Indonesian people and international community during the New Order era.
Its extensive collection comprises over 10,000 items, including valuable gifts and souvenirs received from various world leaders, national figures, and the public. The exhibits detail Soeharto’s journey, from his role in the independence struggle to his presidency. Key displays feature military decorations and medals of honor, as well as unique artifacts like a Chinese princess’s jade bed, illustrating the history and personal legacy of the long-serving president. It serves as an educational destination focusing on the history of Indonesia during the New Order period.
