The Crystal Mosque (or Masjid Kristal) is a spectacular modern landmark situated in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. It is located within the Islamic Heritage Park on Pulau Wan Man, where its glittering structure beautifully reflects on the surrounding Terengganu River.
Inaugurated in 2008, the mosque’s striking appearance earns it its famous name. Its grand structure is uniquely constructed primarily from steel, glass, and crystal, giving it a sleek, contemporary look that contrasts with traditional mosque designs. It features a main dome flanked by several smaller domes and four slender minarets.
Inside, the mosque is air-conditioned and boasts a large crystal chandelier as its centerpiece, complementing the white and gold interior design. It has a capacity of around 1,500 worshippers and is known for being Malaysia’s first “intelligent” mosque, equipped with Wi-Fi for visitors to read the electronic Quran. At night, the building is illuminated with colorful lights, creating a dazzling spectacle that makes it a premier spot for photography and a must-see attraction when visiting Terengganu.
