Menara Taming Sari, also known as the Taming Sari Tower, is a distinctive, modern landmark in the heart of historical Malacca City. Standing at a height of 110 meters, it holds the title of Malaysia’s first and only revolving Gyro Tower.
The tower’s design is inspired by the legendary Keris (dagger) of the Malay warrior Hang Tuah, lending it a strong cultural connection. Visitors ascend in an air-conditioned, glass observation cabin, which slowly rotates 360 degrees during the ride, offering breathtaking, panoramic views.
From its 80-meter observation deck, guests can see sights like the Straits of Malacca, St. Paul’s Hill, the Melaka River, and the modern development of the city. Each viewing session typically lasts about seven minutes, allowing for ample photography.
Located near other key tourist spots, the tower is a popular stop. It generally operates daily, though specific hours are often split into day and night viewings, with different ticket prices applying. The experience provides a unique, elevated perspective of Melaka’s historical and contemporary landscape.
