The Kuah, Langkawi Night Market (also known as Pekan Rabu or Kuah Town Night Market) is arguably the largest and most popular of Langkawi’s rotating pasar malam (night markets). It comes alive on Wednesdays and Saturdays along a street in Kuah town, which closes to traffic in the evening.
This market is a vibrant feast for the senses, offering a massive array of authentic Malaysian street food. Visitors can indulge in local favorites like nasi lemak, char kuey teow, murtabak, satay skewers, grilled seafood, and sweet treats like Apam Balik (peanut pancake) and kuih. Prices are known to be very affordable, making it an excellent spot to sample diverse local flavors.
Beyond the culinary delights, the Kuah Night Market is a fantastic place for budget-friendly shopping. Stalls sell everything from clothing, souvenirs, and imitation goods to batik textiles and local condiments. For the best experience, arrive after 6 PM to see the market in full swing, follow the crowds to the most popular food vendors, and don’t forget to practice your bargaining skills!
