Cactus Valley

Cactus Valley in Cameron Highlands, located near the town of Brinchang, is a popular, unique botanical attraction set on a hillside overlooking the area. Far from a desert oasis, this garden thrives in the cool, misty climate of the highlands, showcasing a diverse collection of over 3,000 species of cacti and succulents from around the world.

Visitors can wander through the terraced garden pathways to admire the myriad shapes, sizes, and vibrant colours of these resilient desert plants, some specimens reportedly being decades old. While cacti are the main feature, the valley also cultivates a variety of other flora, including roses, ornamental flowers, apple trees, and grape vines, adding splashes of colour to the landscape.

It functions as a commercial farm, offering visitors the chance to purchase potted cacti or other plants as souvenirs. While the journey up the hill to the parking area can be steep, the entry is generally affordable or even free, making it an accessible stop. Cactus Valley provides a fascinating visual contrast to the surrounding green tea estates, offering a refreshing and unusual sight for nature lovers exploring the highlands.
