Lata Iskandar Waterfall is a popular and picturesque natural stopover located along the main route from Tapah leading up to the Cameron Highlands in Perak. This scenic cascade tumbles down multiple tiers of granite rock, with its final drop plunging about 25 meters into a refreshing pool at the base.
Its easy accessibility right beside the road makes it an ideal spot for travelers to break up their journey, take in the cool, humid air, and enjoy the sound of rushing water amidst the lush rainforest surroundings. The area is equipped with concrete staircases allowing visitors to climb to the top of the main cascade for different perspectives of the falls and the surrounding greenery.
A unique aspect of Lata Iskandar is the cluster of stalls lining the roadside. These vendors, often from the indigenous Orang Asli community, sell local handicrafts, souvenirs, and snacks like lempeng pisang (banana pancakes) and fresh produce. While the roadside parking can get congested, especially on weekends, the waterfall itself remains a beloved spot for a quick dip in the cool pools or simply for a refreshing break on the way to or from the cool highlands. Admission to the waterfall area is typically free.
